Could also be a good idea to properly clean the inside of the rotor/drum on the rear to get rid of the dust and such, as that is usually what causes squealing in drums/rotor internals

It takes up more of the caliper's fluid area as your pads wear down since the pistons have to be further out. You're supposed to suck the topped off fluid from the master cylinder down the the min line before compressing the pistons back in when you put new pads on so it doesn't spill everywhere.
