Why don't vehicles have chrome and stainless trim anymore? Vehicles tend to just look monotone and bland without it. You're lucky to get a couple strips of fake plastic chrome on luxury vehicles where it used to be commonplace on economy cars.

Because chrome trim is ugly trash, same reason wood trim is thankfully going away

Depends on how both finishes are used. It can be tacky, but I think it also really enhances a vehicle's appearance.
Seems like everything now just looks cheap with zero trim and plastic fittings.

Because we're living in the fewchure and no one wants chrome anymore, went the way of the dodo in the 90s. Plus people now more than ever look at their cars as appliances to be thrown away after a few years and don't care about personal touches such as chrome and it keeps production costs lower for auto makers so they don't use chrome anymore. I personally like chrome trim but no one else seems to care much for it
