I want to daily drive one of these mid 70s continentals.
What am I in for?

11 gallons per mile

This pretty much.
Supreme comfort, ass gas mileage, and difficulty parking. Pretty much like a Suburban.
low mpg
low comfort
slow acceleration
bad handling

>Low comfort

Boi...
>>17800631
those cars are slow as fuck
also >muh comfort
adding ninety pillows to every seat doesn't make a car comfortable
>>17800631
its slower than a 1600 BMW with 80hp from the same time period
the seats are awful and the car rolls around like a boat
Dainty hand waves and googly eyes from 70 year old boomer women
>>17800643
it's also much heavier and larger than one too.
>>17800591
> tons of wiring gremlins
> easy to burglarize so none of your shit is safe in the car
> abysmal crash safety, you are better off even in a Yaris
>>17800817
Also, RUST
This doesn't apply if you live in CA or FL or similiar but just about everywhere else the car will slowly disintegrate if you aren't super anal about cleaning it weekly
>>17800821
Rust is my main concern,
well rust and wiring issues.
I don't know what the trip is talking about tho these things are comfy af.
>>17800642
have you sat in one though?

I don't even get why is this a problem to Americans? Gas here costs 4x as much so it's still cheaper for amerifats to DD a 7 litre VEEATE than it is to me to DD a 1.6 litre shitbox Nissan.
Also would a 70s Lincoln be a better idea than a 70s Caddy?

>Also would a 70s Lincoln be a better idea than a 70s Caddy?
Both of them will be kind of crap but the Lincoln will definitely be easier to find parts for, Ford parts-bins pretty much everything and I wouldn't be surprised if there's some odds and ends on an 80's Town Car that were still being used right up to 2011.

>I don't even get why is this a problem to Americans?
everything is relative
where Im at 0.80 per l is expensive since were used to paying 0.55~ and people flip out and sell their SUVs and shit
wed probably just invest in public transport if shit got as bad as Europe
>Also would a 70s Lincoln be a better idea than a 70s Caddy?
Cadillac has always bested Lincoln but will be more expensive
