hey /o/ baught a 2004 chevy trailblazer. got it at a decent price because the brake pads and rotors need replaced. asking what is a good manual to get, I plan on doing most of the repairs on this vehicle myself so a good manual would help a lot. is Chilton the best or are there other manuals you use? or should I just always go to the mechanic for overpriced work?

You could try to find the original owner's manual for your vehicle. Haynes repair manuals are also excellent.

I have an owners manual for a 2000 chevy suburban. and that is not helpful at all. yea I'll look at Haynes, I wasent sure if Chilton or Haynes was better
