Get yourself a mid to late 90s C1500.

You must've meant 2500HD

He said tow a jeep not an Abrams tank.

How well would it do towing a jeep and, say, going uphill if it's a 1500?

This.

Unless your Jeep and trailer has a GTM over 7000lb, it should be more than adequate.

Keep in mind a 90's 1500 350 is going to be making maaaybe 200hp on a good day. That's not going to be fun towing 7000lbs. That's pretty close to the tow limit of modern V6 trucks like Colorado's and Taco's.

7.3 powerstroke

First of all, the Jeep and trailer would be unlucky to end up on the north side of 5000lb. Secondly, a 90s V8 1/2ton is still more than adequate to pull near 7000, unless you're allergic to changing gears. In which case you shouldn't be on the road with a trailer.
Now I'm not saying OP should avoid a 3/4ton 2500HD because "HE DUSNT NEED FUCKHOOJ TRUK". If one pops up that represents equal or better value, then by all means jump at it. Just don't disclude 1/2tons as they're still more than enough for towing a dual axle single car trailer. Even a V6 compact/midsize is adequate to regularly pull a Jeep on a trailer.

Interesting. And I don't mind changing my own gears.
