Quick question on changing my oil on my civic. Pic related from

I am not certain, but I think 4.8 is to hit the top of the stick, and 3.9 is the optimum. Can be completely wrong though.

To be sure, throw 3.9 at first and see what the level is, then if needs be throw in a little more.

Yeah last time I bought a 5qt and kinda just eyed it with the dip stick level, which is hard as shit to read with new oil. I just wanted to follow this chart so I add the correct amount.

The total amount is for a dry engine, after a rebuild for example.

If you're just changing your oil and filter, go with one of the first two numbers, whatever applies to your car.

Still, check the dip stick afterwards.
