What does /o/ think of the first gen Xterra? Good first SUVs?
My options are:
>1999 Subaru Forester
>2000 Toyota 4runner
>2001 Nissan Xterra (pic related)
>2003 Chevrolet Tahoe
All automatic since my father insists on it as he will be the one making the purchase and he would use it when his car is in the shop (he is sick of driving stick). I myself know how to drive stick relatively well, so I don't mind the automatic transmission ordeal.
I'd get the 4runner especially if the Tahoe isn't 4x4

both xterra gens are pretty sexy

Xterras in general are pretty sexy senpai.
If I had the option for a free 2008 Range Rover or a $2,400 2003 Nissan Xterra, I'd take the Xterra anyday.

Of course, I'd take the Range Rover and traded it for the Xterra.
I have a second gen and love it, but it's pretty much a totally different truck than first gen so can't comment.
How about this for $2,000?
Bodywork is a bit worn but what matters is what's underneath, I could detail it later.

As long as it's running, I don't care if there's a dead deer impaled on the signature roof rack.
Prepare for headgaskets and wheel bearings on the Forester. Really the 4Runner is the pick of that litter
Go with the 3rd gen 4runner. Make sure to check the tranny fluid isn't pink and lbjs.
