Oil isn't even expensive anyway, you can get supertech (which tests surprisingly well) for about $2.50 a quart, or even a 5 quart jug of full synthetic for around $22 these days. With a good filter you can leave a synthetic oil in there for a lot longer than a conventional oil. Even for my decrepit shitbox that gets driven hard, Blackstone Labs said I should go 5k on Castrol edge with a Wix filter.

Back in 2009 I put use/burned oil for diesel engines in my fiat uno 1.5 gasoline and nothing happened.
Also put 50.000km and didn't changed the oil, got few leaks but nothing happened. Too bad I had to sell, wonder how long it could survive.
