Most reliable SUV for under $5000?
I want something nice, tank-like, and not to hard to whip around.
I have an old rusty v6 4runner right now, its great but.. its over 20 years old and erm.. i want something newer and cleaner and easier to work on...
Contemplating going down to texas or cali to get a one owner 2000 Escalade with 90k, specifically interested in the 2000 model because unlike the newer ones its literally a tahoe clone, so it, theoretically, wouldnt have the problems of the newer ones.. and theyre cheap af
Not really brand-loyal, as long as the vehicle itself has a good reputation for reliability i'm game...
SUVs are for cucks and butch dykes. Try buying a Miata instead good buddy

Don't listen to this closet cuck.
I heard 00-04 Nissan Xterras are pretty good.
90s Suburban.
Can't kill the Vortec.

I really like those things but they always seem to be in various incomprehensible states of disrepair, not hard-use beat on, i mean like, never maintained trailer trash bitch owned, etc

Get a sequoia or another, newer 4Runner.

would be pointless, its barren and depressing...
i live in the poorest county in the poorest state in america, real rust belt shit
Night in the Woods was written about towns like mine...
all cars here are beat into oblivion, rusted out, and hardly maintained or jerry rigged
i'll have to fly somewhere and drive a car back if i want a 10/10 condition one

They are absolutely amazing, I was in one with just under 300k miles and when I started it up I thought it had a bad fuel pump and didn't start because the engine was so quiet.

squarebody suburban or blazer, huge after market, massive engine bay, has small block chevy 350 or 454 which are widely available and reliable, trucks are tough, well made and look great, you cannot go wrong

Lexus lx450. It's old but a tank.
For something newer I would consider a Saab 9-7 4.2 or 5.3. It is a trailblazer with a nicer exterior, and probably has been better taken care of.

I just found one in a barn find, it's not what you're looking for probably because it needs patches on the doors, all paint sanded off or removed because it's ruined, the interior needs gutted and has moss on the carpet, driver's door needs to be removed and have both latches repaired so the only way to drive is enter passenger side and slide, and the front driveshaft is missing, but the frame, suspension and drive line are solid, it's even a scottsdale with the dash computer and barn doors, but seriously pick one up if you can it really is sex on wheels
