Saturn S Series can be had for about 1k, then put some money into basic repairs like spark plugs, oil/transaxle fluid change, some cheap chinese tires and you're set.

Also for $2k you dont have any preferences on what it looks or feels like. When your budget is at least $5-$10k then you can have preferences.

I've got a boat dock 325e that's getting head swapped sometime this year.
One of the great things about these cars is the cavern of an engine bay. They had to fit a transverse I6 in it, which means you can pretty much fit anything else.
As soon as my M20 shits the bed, it's either a modern V8 or a Hartley. But the M20 never fucking dies because they're so understressed in stock form.

goddmn. Craigslist is the best way to find a car in your budget. You won't find anything at any dealer in your price range that's decent, so you HAVE to buy from private owners. Everyone uses Craigslist. You're just retarded.
Anyways, choices:

You should check out Urban Outfitters. It's a good dealer. Guaranteed to have what you're looking for.
