Oil light turned on and I heard a loud noise, engine still ran but it scared me until I parked. Do I add more oil, then drive it to the dealership, or is adding oil harmful? Please respond.
What kind of loud noise? There's probably a serious problem with your car and it would be wisest to have it towed but why do you want to take it to the stealership?

I see anon, thanks for your input, I won't turn it on and try to ask around for someone who can change the oil. It was some sort of heavy rattling, went away when I slowed down but scared me nonetheless.

Check the oil level first and do not put in more than max. If the rattling still continues after that get it towed. What car and mileage?
First check the oil level. Is it good? The oil light means low oil pressure. Check under the engine. Is it leaking oil badly? If it's not low oil or it's not leaking that's the problem, then it's either the oil pressure sensor or (more likely) oil pump failure.
About the only safe scenario you can drive the car is if it's just low on oil, anything else, get it towed.
