You can fuck insurance companies slightly by buying a car over 25 years old
You can tape the road tax system if you get a car over 40 years old
I will probably get a 25 year old car one I passed my test (1 week away)

I recommend an old 2.0 diesel golf, something 2003 ish for £1k to hold you over till your insurance drops. Still expect to pay roughly £2k for your first years insurance.

so glad i dont have to pay £2300 for my first years 3rd party f+f insurance on a £500 shitbox ever again
