Recently was in an accident and need to replace my car. Insurance payout was $3200. Could put in a bit more money if the car was really worth it. Would prefer to save as much as possible.
Need a point A to B car, but also capable of handling itself in snow since winter's get messy where i live. Have had Subaru's and Lexus' in the past. Am scared of subarus headgasket problems and don't think i have enough money to buy another RX330 like i used to have
Open to suggestions, new to buying cars and want to make the right choice

honda crv?
those things can be awd
If you're not afraid of looking like a scumlord you could try buying a truck like a ford ranger or something
idk man have you read the whole entire sticky yet?
all the info may help you out somehow (excluding the motorcycle section)
I've found a lot of subaru's within my price range, are there years that are more reliable than others?

I wouldn't be opposed, just worried about driving in snow

There's not many crv's in my area although they do look tough. These two are the ones currently up and in my budget. Either worth?

Trucks i wouldn't mind, but also want the best mileage i can with the money i'm working with.

the more expensive black one looks to be the better pick
ask for maintenance records, inquire specifically about transmission service history (honda autos are notorious for being iffy) as well as a lot more pictures if youre serious
if you want to look for trucks the toyota tacoma is good, the ranger is also good,
the f150 is also hella common, nobody would fault you for owning one
im no truck expert though you should consult specific forums if you are trying to decide which vehicle to look for

Fwd is fine for snow, just get a set of winter tires. If it's very heavy snow (think ski mountain), then get a set of chains as well
A fwd shitbox with winter tires beats awd with all seasons any day
