Hey /o/, first time buying a car, and I need an answer ASAP.
I'm about to buy my first car, it can be anything, as long as it's 5k, so nothing great, but nothing completely shitty.
My question here is, should I try to find a manual rwd, or should I just settle for an automatic fwd?
I don't actually know how to drive stick, but I'm willing to give it a try. My budget doesn't really allow me to start buying car parts and switching out a busted ass clutch, which I doubt will even happen, so I wanna hear your take on it.
Read the sticky, buy a corolla.
You can learn to drive stick its not that hard just take it slow.
Only people that hate cars drive Automatic FWD i honestly don't even know why anyone engineered them.

>it can be anything, as long as it's 5k
Get whatever you want, but
If 5k is your budget,
Spend 4 and put $1000 into repairs.
I guarantee any used 4-5k shitbox has at least $1000 in preventive and overdue maintenance.

I don't really see the point in buying a Corolla. Would you care to give me your personal opinion why?

Both parents come from a country where driving auto is a luxury, so one of them could teach me, easily. I guess people chose to place the drive train in the rear for the ability of understeering and to have the 50/50 weight distribution, most people don't care because the interest in cars has just focused on SUV's and supercars.

Also, get a manual RWD
It's easy to learn to drive stick
Find something as STOCK as possible.
Shitbox mods almost always mean neglected maintenance and "It's about to die so I'm selling it" issues.

3k civic.

No thanks. Automatic FWD sounds annoying, manual FWD sounds even worse.

You can't afford better. I drove a civic for 3 years and I didn't like it at first but it grew on me. Save your money for more important things.
