Alright /o/ redpill me on minitrucks. I'm leaning right now toward a mid 90s hardbody, but I know super little about cars in general, so here's what I'm looking for

-mid size at most
-4 wheel drive
-V6 engine (I think? I want something that I can haul shit around/tow a car if need be)
-easy(ish) to work on, haven't done a whole lot of work
-extended cab is optional
-80s or 90s aesthetic is love
-around 3500-4500 budget

I've no real preference between domestic or imported trucks, nor do I plan on this being my last truck, but I'd still like to have it around 5-10 years assuming I do my part. What're the pros/cons of your favorite trucks? Or are there specific trucks that are complete pains in the asses to work on that should be avoided?

(yes, I have seen the sticky, trying to explore my options)

the D21 isn't a bad little truck, provided you get one with the Z24 engine in it.

the mitsubishi mighty max and isuzu p'up are good too. toyota's are great too but you are paying that meme tax. D21 is best bang for your buck imo.

Memes, stop buying weed and video games and expand your budget some more and get like a 10 year old fullsize pickup with a v8. You will be a lot less of a bitch than some fag in a rusted out 93 hardbody

I don't want a daily driver with a v8 in it. Primarily due to gas mileage. Also, being that I live in a largely urban area, I also don't want a full size pickup.

>>17675946
It's there anything particularly wrong with the vg30?
>>
>>17676034
My 2002 v8 gets 12mpg and since it's a full size crew cab it's fucking God awful in the city because it's so big and the turning radius is horrible. It's safe as hell, a comfy ride and tons of room but not for city driving.
>>
>>17676103
Right, exactly. Parallel parking in the city seems like it would be a nightmare.
>>
>>17675939
v6 is still underpowered
mid-size / compact trucks are too small to do any real truck stuff
be nice as a 2nd or 3rd vehicle
but if you want a truck and can only have one. dont fuck around, get a full size with v8
>>
>>17676209
I mean, what exactly do you define "real truck stuff" as? I only plan on, at very most, being able to like tow someone out of a mud patch, hailing furniture around, shit like that. Again, I live in a city, so there's no need for any heavy duty workload capacity.

V8 Swap an S10 if you're dead set on getting a smaller truck. otherwise get a fullsize regular cab short box 1500 or something.

Not OP but looking for a early 2000 ranger over 100k miles.

Options to get:
>Rwd (not certain 4x4 necessary for me)
>No extended cab (right?)
>V6 3.0

Just get a ranger
>>
>>17676659

I will just daily drive it and only on rare occasion transport shit

>>17676678
the 3.0 is literally the worst of the 3 options. of you want economy get the i4 with a stick. if you want power get the 4.0. the Vulcan 3.0 is the worst of both worlds. terrible mileage and no power.

This mate knows what he's talking about. This engine put the hurt on the 22r. That's why is was revised soon after it came out.
