I was considering buying a 17' Corolla until I realized it has CVT. Why do this? Also 17' Civics have it. Just why?? Mazda 6 Grand Touring or Hyundai Elantra Sport
CVT is more fuel efficient.
The government's "55 by 25" initiative (where manufacturers have to meet 55mpg by 2025) pushed most of them to CVT.
Mazda 3 still uses a traditional auto gearbox, as do Jettas.
>CVT
Never once

>17'
It is '17 unless you mean it is a 17-foot long Corolla.

Because you can have literally ideal rpm at any speed. I'd pick manual any day of the week but if ihave to pick an auto itll be a cvt.

The man with no taste
DCT > CVT
The Ioniq is the most fuel efficient car in America and it uses a DCT

TRUMP WILL DELETE THIS AND MAKE CARS GREAT AGAIN
So this might be retarded, but I've always wondered, why isn't there a performance cvt?
Like if it has infinite gear ratios and can always keep the engine at peak power, shouldn't it be the best for performance? I understand they're terrible to drive but if tuned correctly wouldn't they be the quickest?

Cvts are unreliable. It's still a rubber band sliding dry on 2 steel cones.
