>Electric car
>Small folding motorcycle (e.g. motocompo)
>The bike can be used as a generator to charge the batteries
>It basically becomes an extended-range electric car where you can take the engine (bike) out if you're just driving around the city
>You can also ride the bike
What does /o/ think?

Cool idea, too bad it will never get built.
>Small folding motorcycle
Inefficient and noisy as all fuck.
Also;
>Taking up any storage space with a piece of shit scooter
May as well just buy a scooter and use it when you need to.
I mean, charging batteries aside it's all been done before during the oil scare.
why would they do that instead of making more room for batteries/hybrid garbage
>>17660937
Because electric cars literally cannot handle long trips. You need a way to either swap batteries out or charge them on the move.
>>17660942
>swap a fuckhuge battery with another fuckhuge battery stored in the car
why wouldn't the second battery already be in relay with the rest of the car
fucking stupid
>>17660945
I mean swapping them at a gas station.
It's a shit idea, and not just for the reason that you'd never be able to find batteries.
The only realistic option for long-range electrics right now is a slave motor, but fuel cells would work too if they ever got off the ground.
>>17660950
so basically you want a fisker karma
>>17660924
>rr
o god yes
>>17660942
The other way around would make much more sense - an electric scooter for short range trips and a gas motor/generator to power the car and charge the scooter
>>17660945
i dont think you realize that a battery that size would weigh more than the bike
