>decide to fix it myself with autozone belt
>perfectly quiet for 2-3 days
>now its back and louder than ever
I'm going crazy trying to figure out what I did wrong/what I could do differently. I'm sure it's tensioned properly. Would adjusting/replacing the pulleys somehow help? Is my problem that I went with a cheap belt and not a higher quality one (like goodyear gatorback I've heard can help)? I just want this noise gone
>goyim fell for the "work on your car" meme
just take it to a specialist

I refuse to pay $200 for a $10 fix
just tighten it. sometimes new belts stretch in use

I'll give that a shot next time I'm off work, the tensioner wingnut being in a very not optimal location is the only thing that's kept me from trying that already
my father told me when he had a squealy belt back in the day he put a candle against it on the V side and it stopped.
Are you sure it's a belt or is it a squeaky pulley/seizing pulley?

it's not a v-belt but it's worth a shot at this point

it could very well be the pulleys. i replaced the belt as a first step before checking the pulley bearings etc

Also for what it's worth, it squeals almost exclusively when I have the AC on.
Here's a video I found with the same noise, I'm hoping it's not the same problem as he has since it seems like a very difficult fix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ofkj_JUOO8

Check compressor clutch air gap
>>17650160
that's just because it puts extra load on the belt. you probably have a bad bearing on one of the pulleys.

Alright I'll give that a shot next time, it's a cheap fix

I would then change the tensensior and see if any fluids are leaking onto the belt causing it to slip.

My engine does leak a fair amount of oil but I'm hoping that's not the problem
spray some soapy water on the ribbed side of yo belt than if the squeaking stops its the belt if it does not its a bearing

Have fun seizing up your engine.

I'm afraid you need a new engine.
