Does that sound like bad seals to anyone? I'm looking to get a cheap fixer for this summer, so I can do some wrenching with my dad. Not looking for tonnes of money, but I'm not willing to run a bunch of risk either.

Yeah. The engine is on its way out.
And he added the oil supply because the 2004/2005 RX-8s have an ECU bug that leads to shitty oil injection.

>Trying to flip an Rx8
lol
>>17648682
Too bad, guess I'll just start looking at Twingos/C1s with fender benders.
>>17648685
It's just a metter of finding the right idiot to sell to.
>>17648770
except you'd be the idiot for buying it in the first place. flipping cars is a shit way to make money get a real job.
>>17648831
Not looking for loads of money though. Just looking for a relatively risk-free summer project for me and my dad.
>>17648836
>relatively risk-free summer project
Then forget about flipping cars.

Why you gotta lie?

This is THE red flag to look out for when buying a rotary car.
Shit's fucked m8, the engine needs a rebuild. If you have the proper tools, you can do it yourself for like $600, otherwise it would be like $2000 to pay someone for a rebuild
>>17648863
Define proper tools. Dad's a former Peugeot mechanic, should pretty much have all the necessary stuff except maybe rotary specialty tools.
Non rebuilt '04 models start at 4K EUR, with rebuilt or low-mileage ones going for 5K. Seems like I could break even on this deal, but that's up to the price of those tools.
>>17648848
Those look like cool wheels. Are they available in five lug? I could probably put them on that RX-8, and sell it for double what I can buy it for.
>>17648893
>Define proper tools
just basic sockets and wrenches
first of all I never heard of these cars having a oil reservoir for more oil than what the engine initially holds. this car is known for leaking oil and burning oil already top off once a week depending on drives. passing 80000 miles engine warranty runs out bcuz rotaries tend to go bad when no taken care of. I drove with 109000plus still good. hard fix sometimes not worth the trouble in your case for flipping. unless you are a mechanic and can rebuild yourself
