Same dilemma I had buying my first car. All rwd manuals were out my my price range, so I finally decided on fwd manual. Don't regret it at all. Rowing gears is the best, and the percentage of time you enjoy rowing gears greatly outstrips the percentage of time I would be doing donuts or sliding around taking advantage of the rwd automatic.
