I've never owned a garage, at least not since I moved out of my parents house. Only had my car broken into once in college and it's because I left my backpack on my passenger seat.

You'll likely take some scratches over time but break-ins probably depend on where you live.

I had a trailer ball stolen from my ranger. Like a shitty $10 autozone one. Also parked next to a speed bump one time and someone smashed the side of my truck probably attempting to drive around it.

Depends where you are parking. In an area with a lot of poor people? Then don't park anything more luxurious than a toyota. By poor people I mostly mean black people. Mexicans/hispanics are a little better

I used to have to park on the street at work and at home. Last car had the scars to show it.

Now I have a double garage at home and secure parking at work and I don't know how I've lived. People in the work car park still open doors on you and other shit so I'm not completely immune, it just means the list of who did it is greatly reduced
