>first rund with ls swap finally correctly tuned
>raced a corvette
>got beaten
only barely, but still beaten
I guess boost is a must
>>17625997
Nah just reduce weight
>>17626024
Already switched the seats for lighter ones
Kinda hard to reduce more without losing comfort
Besides, I think the added 150-200 hp would be more worth than shaving some 30-40 kg
>>17625997
Gears
carbon fiber EVERYTHING
dont forget the direct injection
>>17625997
>do engine swap
>keep new engine stock
lsfags BTFO
>>17626068
got a 4.10 ratio rear end
Not sure about the t56, but I don't think it should be too shabby
>>17626069
I wish, but
>this kills the wallet
High lobe voodoo cam
Fraction of the cost of boost but will gain you 40+ whp easily
>>17626086
It's cammed, and with 1.8 ratio lifters
full lenght headers too.
but it's also only a 4.8
swedish laws regarding car modification is literally "no fun allowed"
>>17626088
>4.10 ratio
What RPM on the highway?
Also, does yours handle better than any bench racer say?
Had an 85 Camaro and it was like a video game car with cheat codes, even with the drag shocks in back. 90/10 could throw it sideways and just think about straightening.
>>17626106
I'm kind of impressed by the handling. It felt a bit heavy in the front before the swap but now, with a much lighter engine, It's ridiculously easy to drive.
>What RPM on the highway?
around 2100-2200 on 6th gear at 65 mph
>>17625997
Did you spin or did he overpower you on top end?
What kind of tires and size?
>>17626154
spun a little in second gear, but not that much.
at around 160 km per hour he started pulling ahead of me.
>>17626159
255/50/16, tire height is 26 inches
>>17626171
OK so it's 6.0 and keep your mouth shut, or nitrous. Considering how fucked Third Gens are for engine compartment room I'd think turbo would be a giant pita
>>17625997
Have you done the fuel and intake side?
Have you done the exhaust and tuned it yet?
You should definitley supercharge it though
>>17626225
>>17626236
I'm considering a procharger set up something like pic related.
I can get a kit from a fourth gen ls1 trans am that should fit like a glove.
fuel, Intake and exhaust are calculated to be enough for 600+ hp
>>17626264
>forgot pic
>>17626274
I love you
>>17625997
Shoulda gone with a real Pontiac motor
>>17626317
y-you too
>>17626377
>some 70s 400 in an 87 'bird
nah m8
>>17626389
They drop right in tho
Were you granny shifting and not double clutching like you should?
>>17626088
>t56
>drag racing
That Corvette probably had an automatic.
Let's say I have the money(I do),but no friends (I moved) what should I do to prep a third gen for a LS?
Motor mounts, cross member oil pan iterferance... I plan on getting a modern manual transmission.
Any advice? Links? Pics of your build in progress?
>>17625997
Swap in a Muncie m22
>>17626448
Going to sleep now, but I can dig for some pics tomorrow.
The swap threads on thirdgen.org and anything on lt1swap.com are gold though.
To prep, make sure you have all the parts needed.
Also, when I started the build, I was planning to build my own headers and motor mounts. I ended up buying those, best money I ever spent, saved a lot of headache. Built my own transmission crossmember, which took like two days.
Stock ls1 oil pan will almost fit crossmember(small dent in member needed)
I used a truck oil pan that i cut a few inches from the bottom and tig welded a new bottom.
If you want to go from auto to manual you will have to get a pedal assembly and cut some holes in your firewall.
I made my own wire harness from a truck harness. It's actually pretty easy and if you have and 86-92 car, most gauges will work with minimal trouble.

Having played around some with centris in Fox Mustangs I found that I loved the way the power came on but hated trying to keep the goddam belt from slipping.
