Not much faster. Honestly you'll miss the ride quality and high rpm torque of the PT. TTs are fun rentals but I get boring after a week of daily driving. At least the PT is comfy, cheap to fix, and super roomy.

Not assuming. I have owned both a PT cruiser and a first gen TT. The PT is better as a daily, full stop. The one (and only one) real-world advantage the TT gets is fuel economy, but the savings are nil if you consider the cost of mainainance is higher. Also, try towing a 2300lb camper with a TT and tell me how it holds up.
