How do I find a completely stock Honda ED6, EF, or EH2 hatch? Do I just need to sit here twiddling my thumbs until one shows up on craigslist?
>>
>>17605133
Import one from Japan
>>
>>17605133
Why would you want that ugly piece of shit? To feel special?
>>
>>17605133
theres tons up here in canadaland
>>
>>17605151
No there isn't.
>>
buy a riced ver. and restore it?
>>
>>17605133
Yes. Or find a riced one with little rust and restore it.

I wanna try getting an EK hatch left hand drive and see how can i adapt the Type R shit into it.

Fuck right hand driving.
>>
>>17605151
Fuck off there's not.
>Nova Scotia
>>
>>17605177
I also wanted to do this a couple years back. But a k20 with a shit ton of boost seems more fun and it's less expensive.
>>
>>17605133
Buy one from old people.
>>
>>17605133
Yes, pretty much.

Also consider joining some model specific forums and checking their classifieds.

I would kill for an unmolested EF hatch that I could buy and then molest.
>>
Just bought a stock, one owner Cx. It has very mild Honda rust, but the car is clean and straight. Just glad I'm not buying someone else project. Gotta be patient, they're out there.
>>
>>17605133
use search tempest and search the entire united states

http://www.searchtempest.com/

there are completely stock civics out there but probably not in your state
>>
Best I could find after looking around was an overpriced but clean EP3 that only had a +5 HP air intake and a magnaflow exhaust without a fart cannon that still sounds pretty nice.

5.5k for 120k on it, I figure it has another easy 100k left and I intend to drive it for a while because it's the last tiny 3 door civic honda bothered to make.
>>
No Idea where you are from but a quick search and I found this

OP here

I'm from central Texas, honestly I'd make the journey to Knoxville but $5900 is way too much, it should be at least under $3500.
>>
>>17605769
>even has clean steelies with hubcaps instead of aftermarket wheels

Damn, that's rare as fuck. Usually the only honda wheels people kept stock were the halfway decent alloys you could sometimes get.
>>
>>17605799
Its an unmolested un-rusted and looks like perfectly stock civic. I would claim for 5500 but i think its not that overpriced.
>>
>>17605799
Listen, you want an unbeat on civic of this vintage, you're gonna be paying a premium.

Yeah I was lowballing now that I think about it. It pisses me off sometimes, these things would be nice little economy cars anyone could buy as their starter, you know something like a miata, but like miatas fucking dudebros and riceburner beaners ruined that for everyone. Believe me, finding a clean stock civic in central beanerville Texas is a challenge.

you can still find a relatively stock miata for the low. They aren't expensive at all. You just aren't looking hard enough.

>Wants to buy a classic civic
>Expects to pay 3k
It's not 2005 anymore those cars are over 25 years old now especially if you have a manual. You're no better than a lowballing boomer who wants to buy a 69 Charger for 5k then after he owns says it's worth over 200k

>>17605834
This is asking for a battery relocation
>>
>>17605821
>>17605769
Not OP but I would I go about making these journeys? I've never bought a car out of state, can anyone elaborate? Also I hear CRXs, EFs, and EH2s get jacked a lot, how do I thwart car thieves without just driving standard?
>>
>>17605853
Learn to drive manual and put a steering wheel lock
>>
>>17605853
Also it would help if you have a garage to park it in.
>>
>>17605853
Honda's didn't get immobilizers until the 98-00 years I believe. Maybe even started in 2001.

There's not a whole lot you can do to keep people from stealing them other than not living or parking anywhere near people who steal things. Best of luck finding that without living in the Dakotas or Utah or some such though.

Anyone here here imported, is it as hard as people say? I'm looking at some beautiful SiR II's right now.
>>
>>17605935
>hard

There's a fairly good selection of companies that can handle purchasing it in Japan, getting everything in order to go overseas, and even companies that can get it from the port to your home and the paperwork involved isn't particularly intensive.

What people don't realize is that you tack on thousands of dollars by the time that's all said and done and your 6k-7k prime nippon shitbox suddenly cost an upwards of 10k-12k Worth it for some people but honestly I'd only do it for dream car tier vehicles that you literally can't buy already imported for whatever reason.

Honestly keep saving your dosh and be patient, they're out there and they will show up on your local craigslist eventually. It's almost natural, at one point my city's craigslist was chock full of MR2s but a few months later they were all gone but a few rust bucket NAs. Patience is key when buying older anon. Trust me, they're Civics, they're not going to be ultra rare collectors items anytime soon and they were selling like hotcakes back in the day, a clean stock civic will be yours eventually.
>>
>>17605953
multiple have already been posted ITT
>>
>>17605935
just buy one from a company thats already exported one here if you're ok with paying the JDM tax that comes along with it

examples: these are all already sold but they were imported by this company than put up for sale to purchase by customers stateside.

Welcome to the modern age dude.

Every 90's japanese econobox is an expensive relic now.

Cheap civics and miatas? S2K for about 15k or less? AE86s for cheap and corollas everywhere? You are 15 years late to the party.

All those cars are now officially "classic" for the most part and the unmolested ones either have a shit ton of rust or are going for extreme prices. Boomers of modern age. instead of 60's muscle cars, 80's and 90's japanese icons.

shit, I never realized this, but we really are. The threads devoted to making fun of boomer craigslist ads overpricing their muscle cars will eventually transition over to making fun of people overpricing their japanese sportscars
>>
>>17605769
This is so rare that it feels like a trap.

Goddam I'm tempted.
>>
>>17606218
really gets your nogging joggins, doesn't it? people keep really good jap cars but since they are getting rarer and their fame of being cheap available shitbox has turned them into rare expensive shitboxes people really want a lot of money for them. On top of a lot of them becoming adults and spending money into them, only increasing their assumed value.

The guy up there posted nearly 6k for a mint 90's civic. 10 year ago even without inflation you would get it cheaper.
>>
>>17605885
Can confirm 2000 is probably when it started, my 00 teg gsr has it
>>
>>17606273
I just want to go back in time a few years to buy a clean 240SX hatch, and maybe a EH hatch before the prices became retarded
>>
>>17606335
I would buy a new NSX when it was just the price of an 911.

Then again, NSX haven't exactly aged well.

240sx, miatas, civics, AE86s, MR2s... All of them are overpriced now.
>>
>>17605133

>>
>>17606356
I'd actually like to find one of those specifically. I mean 48 MPG city and 55 MPG highway. That's a fucking econobox.

What the fuck do I do about location issues? Do I just I fly over there and drive it back home? How am I supposed to go about long distance buying?
>>
>>17606416
>Do I just I fly over there and drive it back home?

exactly. Plenty of people do that.
>>
>>17606416
>>17606418
I would be very careful about doing that, considering these cars are generally old and may not be able to handle a really long roadtrip without proper maintenance after purchasing
>>
>>17606418
Well fuck, better save up and let the boss know I'm going to be taking a roadtrip soon. At least the price of gas isn't going to be much of a problem.
>>
>>17606431
Sure its a 20 year old car.

But its a 20 year old Honda, they most likely would be able to handle a long roadtrip with ease. I'd change the oil and spark plugs then would be on my way.
>>
>>17606438
Normally I'd fully agree but we're talking about civics here. Old 90s econo shitbox civics, I.E. back when Honda was trying very hard to prove themselves in the automotive industry. If it's bone stock, well maintained, and you have some extra questions answered from the owner I'm sure you'd be fine. Back then, the fucking things were literally built as barebones unbreakable cheap yet well made econoboxes.
>>
>>17606460
meant for>>17606431
>>
>>17606431
Depending on the issue, one of the beauties is you would be buying a honda of a vintage where part availability is ridiculously good

Breaking down as long as its near civilization (aka an auto parts store) isn't the largest of issues.

This right here, that's what makes these cars so good, they're reliable, cheap, and built with pure simplicity in mind so parts are always readily available and the engine is so simple and easy to figure out it makes a great babbys first maintenance car. Civics and Hondas in general get a bad rep solely because of riceburners but strangely enough if you show up in a stock classic civic hatch you'll get instant respect from people, where as you'll get laughed off the face of the earth if you try modding it. /o/ can talk as much shit about classic civics as they want but they make for excellent starter cars and that's undeniable. They're great for learning how to drive, learning to stick, learning to maintain repairs, and they're old econoboxes so gas is cheap, especially if you get a VX.

theres nothing wrong with modifying a civic. its just that so many people in the United states do it in bad taste
>>

Agreed, but molesting the unmolested should be a last resort rather than an easy out.

No use taking automotive history off of the road.

bruh its a civic not a e46 m3 CSL

as much as civics make great econoboxes, they also make great starter cars to get into track days/autox. they are cheap, parts are plentiful and youd still be able to drive it home after a track day.

Not everyone wants a boring stock car, and if you do, there is nothing wrong with that
>>
>>17606617
>e46 m3 CSL

92' civics are about to be legally defined classic cars.

Rust, the silent killer is slowly attritioning that VIN-holding steel as a population.
