Do not get the Altima. The 2.5 engine (QR25) is notorious for destroying itself. Not bullshit either, google it and find out. Honestly best advice i would say is keep looking, civic too old and may/ may not hold up

The appeal of the Nissan was that it was obviously a wigger car, and I'm not a wigger while the ricer definitely has the potential to make me at least feel like a weeb.

I figure it being modded adds to the price. It saves me from having to put money in it. Stock doesn't excite me and I'm not a gearhead..but something that isn't reliable excites me a hell of a lot less.

Mods usually take away from value unless they're useful, name-brand, and done properly. An engine built by a reputable shop adds value. Chinese headlights or an eBay lowering kit reduces the price.

People who do mods and sell a car think "I've just added $1000 in value." Smart people buying a car see the mods and think "I might have to replace $1000 in shit this guy's fucked with."
