I was seriously considering buying one but I ended up going the WRX route instead because I didn't want a car that depreciated 50% in 2 years and was more practical/had more power.

Now I kinda feel bad - I still kind of want one.

I go check the listing on Tues and both cars are sold

I call back on Weds and of course the salesman I talked to "isnt available", so instead of going to Ford on Thurs, I went down to the Hyundai dealer and bought an Accent for $700 less with a better warranty.

Anyways, friend had the sedan fiesta. It's decent, but it's broken down a couple times (not a big deal, though once they screwed up and had back for another week) since he's owned it. Good thing is, his is more than a few years old now, so he's gotten good use out of it. Cheap too.

The automatic Fiesta has a FUCKING TERRIBLE DCT TRANSMISSION that gave it an air of unreliability means it's more affordable for Ford to scrap selling it in America than to advertise any changes or try to sell it as a manual only (lol, good luck doing that in America) and 2. Ford is a global company and America is, currently and in the foreseeable future, OBSESSED with SUVs and not hatchbacks (which are seen as too European or too old styled) means it's not worth the money to keep it here again.

Ford isn't a charity for the needs of the few Fiesta ST owners. It's a business and it has to make money by appealing to the demands of the majority of its consumers.
