It's actually surprisingly enjoyable, the physics are just hard enough that getting a clean line really matters and you can disable the mario kart shit so that it's purely whoever can drive better winning. Watch a video of it sometime, it is pretty intense when done right.

Those are things that everyone involved can do, it's by no means a realistic experience but it's not unfairly stacked with rng in modernity now that people have enough props to block off lamp posts and all. The only real big shame is that Rockstar keeps fucking the car classes up so I wouldn't really want to play it anymore, the game's not worth 70 gigs of hard drive space.

Sure, not every racing game is going to be an accurate representation of reality and using the tools the game intentionally or unintentionally gives you to win is fair play. At the core of it all, GTA racing is fun for the same reason that people like those tourist servers on AC - it's a low-stakes opportunity to get wheel-to-wheel time and that's fun as hell regardless of whether you're playing a high-fidelity sim or a silly arcade game.

In Colin Mcrae 2005 you can make wildly big shortcuts on tracks, cutting off up to 3 seconds. People hosting servers would kick you for not taking a clean racing line. Is it just me or this this logic retarded? The game ceases to be a pure rally game because you have memorized every inch of the track at what point does the cutting begin and end? the navigator even tells you to cut

slowly learning weight shift control. I think I still get on the power too late in corner exits. I've also fiddled around with other cars in the gt3 and gt2 classes. I've really started to like the ferraris because you can throw them into corners really hard I feel.

Alternating rules for the next series seems like a really bad idea. Without going full civics lesson on you, the polls you ran are not necessarily representative due to the limitations of plurality voting. If you wanted a good representative result, you'd have to do a ranked preference vote of some kind, but I can't see any easy way to do that online for free.

Personally, I'd like to run a spec series of any kind with no Boost and possibly with success ballast. I'd rather race something RWD than Civics, but I'd take Civics over the other options in the final poll.

Hi /ovg/, Could we add GT6 to our OP or could we do a /gt6g/ thread? I have the feeling a lot of people still play this game and I love it! Plus in comparison to rfactor, the game is ready to be played online out of the box, ps3s are like 80€ today and you can find GT6 for lik 5€ and multiplayer is free. Physics are top-notch, and 60 laps races have tires usage, pit-gestion and refueling plus multiplayer is really well done and whe could easily create a 4chan clan or something. Any thoughts?
