If self driving/electric cars become the norm, governments will probably throw older cars under the bus to appear progressive because they're "dangerous" and "not green". In Japan it's very hard to keep an old car on the road simply because of how strict emissions and safety regulations are, they have to be spotless and neutered. That's why there are giant piles of classics rusting away in junkyards over there, it'll be the same way over here as soon as they get the chance.

What you will probably see is a kind of self-balancing system that will simply not let the bike fall over, preventing a major cause of motorcycle injuries and death which is just crashing by yourself.
