There's a crack in the side of my inline-4 crank case, the previous owner JB welded it and it ran for a good while, but now when I try to turn it over all it does is make a clicking noise. Not a dead battery click either, a repetitive chunky click. Could this just be a bad starter? Or is the engine permanently fucked. Is there any way I can check if the engine is seized?
Pls help
You put a wrench of the crankshaft pulley (with the spark cabled pulled) to check if the engine will turn over.
You've been running an engine with a cracked block? That's like 24hrsoflemons tier stuff right there. How long did the engine run like that?
Oh, and yes, the engine is probably fucked. It could be the starter though and you might be able to get a lil' bit more life out of your fucked engine.
better start looking for second hand engines m8y
I just started reading that flathead can run well with cracked blocks. Now I'm worrying if my block could be cracked... fuck being paranoid...
