Is the RX8 really as inefficient as everyone likes to point out? 18mpg sounds like it came straight from the 1970s
Is there anyway to increase its MPG/install a secondary fuel tank?

Bump
Im aware that rotaries drink fuel like lemonade but isnt there something I can do short of turning the car off and pushing it?
>>17557042
IIRC some bitch ass faggot said the NA FC was more efficient and reliable than the RX-8 kek
The RX-8 is a huge improvement over the FD with MPG, it's not as bad as everybody says it is.

I test drove one yesterday, holy shit I cannot comprehend how anyone can hate a car like this
Light and precise steering, quick as shit, RWD, 4 seater with 4 cupholders, usable trunk, pretty

it's the same reason all these faggots hate the new nsx it had a 90s predecessor who at just like boomers and put these 90s cars on a pedestal, also it was hyped up by the car company just like the current nsx and it was disappointing because it wasn't perfect in every way. Basically the only reason it's hated is because gen x is acting like a bunch of boomers

They're literally the best car ever. A 1.3 with the power of a 2.0. What more could you want.

Free apex seals
Rotary engines are shit. An engine that REQUIRES a rebuild after 50k is straight dogshit.

How did mazda go backwards with the renesis? The NA rotary that the rx7 had could easily get to 150k.

I don't hate RX8s, what I hate is the rotary upkeep. The engine requires a very tedious maintenance schedule and the payoff isn't that great. Bad mpg, premium gas required, very frequent oil changes, ect. However they are a blast to drive, my friend had one in highschool and that thing is a corner king. I just wish the RX8 lived up to the RX7. No turbo and you need very deep pockets if you want to add more HP to the engine, the Renesis tunes very poorly.

Fuck off, frogposter, gb2/b.
bump for rotary love.
>>17557042
Yeah man, the efficiency is cancer. It is probably one of the few memes about the engine that is spot on, look at pic related in neutral at 2800rpm it's still swilling down almost 10 litres per hour.

>What more could you want
Good fuel consumption, reliability, ease of maintenance, not burning oil, not sounding like shit, having torque etc.
The usual.

But MUH DOUBLE WISHBONE
>>17557042
>Drive rotary engine delicately like a grandma
>18MPG highway
>Drive turbo 2L WRX like a madman everywhere I go
>can't get less than 21MPG
