They're sorta a thing. The manufacturing is probably sketchy as fuck but at least they're trying. Honestly though, this is the sort of stuff that if you gave a second year mechanical engineering student virtually unlimited cheap labor and government grants, he could do himself. They look nice and shiny but I have a feeling that most of the important mechanical parts are hand fitted for each vehicle, which makes it a neat novelty but not something that I'd ever put money into, let alone drive at highway speeds.
