Hey man, what about freeway merging scares you?

When I took driver's ed at school I was taught to signal, then check rearview mirror, then side view mirror, then shoulder check, and if all was free i can proceed to change lanes. This works in residential areas no prob, but on the freeway, i need shoulder check and check my side mirrors twice before actually merging.
