That has happened to me before. I simply stop driving in the middle of the lane and move over to the right side of the lane enough to let all the cars behind me see that there is someone in front of me.

I understand that many times they honk because they want MY car to pass the slow guy so that they can in turn pass the slow guy. Many people don't want to pass two or more cars at once. But if the lane is double yellow or is striped as "Do Not Pass" then I will not pass.

I dont like slow drivers on the fast lane, so I tend to move to the next lane and let people overtake me if I see them approaching at fast speeds. Only time I don't if they merge behind and start tailgating me. Then I wait for them to overtake me and usually there's traffic on the right lane, so I floor it and make them merge behind me again. Petty I know, but fuck tailgaters.
