On my beater Jeep there's a piece of plastic that is angled to sit infront of the air intake so think of it as a wall that is situated infront of the air intake.
Should I remove this bit of plastic to increase air flow so that air will directly blow in? Or am I retard for going against Chrysler Engineers. I'm trying to increase acceleration as much as I can and I read that a bigger intake and exhaust will help a bunch. Sorry for my retardation if this is a dumb idea.

You were fucked the moment you stepped into the fiat.

It probably blocks water spray from directly going into the air intake and soaking the air filter and making it soggy.

>"let's make a big hole leading directly into the air filter for maximum air intake!"
>"but what about water and mud getting in?!?!"
>"let's put a big piece of plastic right infront of the intake!"
>"you'll get a raise jeff, you genious!!"
fucking chrysler

I know, right? Like why even have a filter on there? It just blocks some of the air from getting into the engine. Fucking idiots at Chrysler, Man I tell you what.
