In China, Lincoln is viewed as more prestigious than Audi (#1 selling brand there) and is considered as reliable as Lexus

What is the source of this delusion?
i m Chinese, i just wanna say i dont think so. In China, most of people would buy an Audi instead of Lincoln (I guess). And most people don't know much about Lincoln. And i m not often see a Lincoln on the road.
But Audis are way more popular in China than Lincoln. Even Buicks are more popular than Lincoln

yeh. Audi definitely more popular in China. And most people barely heard of Lincoln. i mean, i dont know if i expressed my viewpoint wrong just yet. The thing is i dont think people in China viewed Lincoln is more prestigious than Audi or as reliable as Lexus. People really just know a little about this brand.

>During a presentation at Barclays Global Automotive Conference on Wednesday, Galhotra said that Ford's market research discovered a few years ago that Chinese customers rank the prestige of the Lincoln brand higher than Audi's -- and rank its quality on par with Toyota's Lexus.
>That's true even though Ford had never officially sold Lincolns in China. The Chinese, Galhotra said, associate the Lincoln brand with U.S. presidents and Hollywood stars, and hold it in high esteem.
What did he mean by this?

American here. I don't want to be European. It's just that American cars suck.
>GM was taken over by a woman who represents financial interests more than culture
>Ford decided they were best at marketing light blue cars to teenage girls and trucks to homosexual men
>Tesla doesn't make a solid car you keep for life.
It's all so utterly fucked.

Audi only seems prestigious to millennials. And Lincoln is fail wheel drive too, with classier design so it isn't surprising.
