Any Ireland / N. Ireland lads here?
Is it even worth bothering with winter tyres in our climate? Or maybe all-season tyres are worth paying up extra few quid?
With the amount of rain you guys have I'd go for an all-season tire with plenty of siping/grooves
Example; Continental All Season Contact
Michelin CrossContact
If you're still worried a bit about the occascional light snowfall for the winter; Nokian Weatherproof
Dedicated winter tires are quite the waste in Ireland

yea that's what I was thinking too. I haven't seen snow since 2010, but there is plenty of rain all-year round.
So all-season then?

Just stick with all-seasons; it rains all year, and it's never really dry enough to bother changing to summer tires.
Just make sure you start checking under your car for bombs again.

Ayup
Good, dedicated summer tires do quite well in the rain too, but all-seasons do better - and they do give you a better chance if it was to ever snow a little bit
On similar topic, if my car's handbook recommends V tyres, would it make any difference if I would buy W rated?
I usually drive within speed limits anyway

Just look at your chart.
W is rated for higher speeds than V so of course you can use it.

No. The W-rated tire might be a little more noisy, that's it.
Irelandfag here.
A car I bought recently has all different tyres with different wear level, but all within legal limits. All summer.
Should I just keep driving it as it is and not think too much about it, or should I try to sell them and buy myself a brand new set of 4 identical all-season tyres?
