Is it at all possible to find one of these with a manual transmission in North America?
>>17509060
No, it's always been automatic only in North America.
>>17509060
Why? Why would you want a manual transmission in what's essentially a work truck?
>>17509356
I can understand that for the US where knowing how to drive is a novelty, but everywhere else in the world an automatic work vehicle is a novelty.
>>17509371
The question remains: fucking why?
There's no joy in driving a 2L diesel van, why would you want a manual?

>USA basic = Automatic
>Europe basic = Manual
we been through this before people.
You want a manual transit connect? Replace the tranny.

Fuel economy, reliability, simplicity, older automatics are also slugish as all hell.
>>17511820
>doing something is more simplistic than doing nothing
k
Oh boy another 'European can't afford the automatic so he hates it' episode
>>17511836
Mechanically...
You must be "full" retard. Literally fuck yourself
>>17511836
>it's easier for my simpleton mind to shift to D rather than use a clutch so that must mean an auto is simpler and more reliable than a manual
>>17512160
Honestly, if you have ever seen a "skilled" American driver using a manual transmission you too would purchase a whole fleet of automatics to prevent having your mechanics constantly plucking gear teeth from the gearbox sump

Really? I sat in a manual transmission version at the Pittsburgh auto show in 2007.

Not the same but it infuriates me that Ford and GM don't offer manual transmissions in their 3/4 or 1 ton diesel pickup trucks anymore. I hate towing or hauling heavy loads with automatic transmissions and they tend to crap out at 100k-150k miles when the trucks are actually used for that purpose regularly.

I've only driven fleet Transits that had the automatic with manual mode. Manual is handy for when the truck is loaded up with heavy and awkward items

It wasn't until a couple years after that they went on sale in North Murika - as automatic only.
