As a driver of an SW20 (turbo), I can see this actually happening. I get slightly worried whenever I see leaves or any water on the road, despite the fact that I've never managed to snap oversteer (even on the track).

This is also my favorite race in all of Initial D.

That scene where takumi sneaks by the civic being the driven by the top student of the local racing school by turning off his lights.

Gets me everytime.

Also that moment takumis dad helps him out when he blows his engine instead of scolding him. Right in the feels.

the race in the rain from first stage, it's got the best editing and the least overly detailed side character narration dragging the action down. plus the rain itself makes for a great visual setpiece

Second Stage was quite the emotional roller coaster. I'll be honest, I almost cried.

I still rewatch the two episodes the fight takes place in from time to time. Absolute perfection, nothing comes close
