What's a nice car with decent power (~200+ hp) that I can buy with about $2500 and not be riddled with issues? I like 1999 Acura TL's but I have to watch out for bad egg transmissions
Gonna say Ford Mustang GT or a V6 but don't post it all over like this one faggot

They were all bad egg transmissions. The automatics in those regularily gave out in less than 100k miles. And the manuals are much too rare to be $2500 cars.
Honestly, the panther platform (03-11), Prelude (97-01), Mustang (96-04), Lexus GS 300/400, IS 300, or ES 300 are all far better choices.

I really like the idea of Lexus gs/is. es just screams "I can afford this because the government gives me food stamps and housing"
>ls400
>panther body
>v6 accord/camry or their acura/lexus counterparts
>90s/early 2000s f bodies
>Mustang
>sport bike if you don't need a car

Lexus IS and GS are both great cars. If getting a manual is important to you you're out of luck though. The manual IS300 is priced way out of your budget, and the GS only comes in auto. The ES has a bad reputation, but it's a comfy land yaught. I was car shopping last year with basically the same requirements and budget and ended up with a Prelude, so I'm a bit biased towards them. Can't beat 200hp, manual, 8000rpm rev cutoff, double wishbone, and top spec Accord level comfiness for $2500.

They're cheap because the engines are leaky pieces of shit
>>17482055
Lol, leaky? They burn oil, I'll give you that - but that's true of every Honda. The engines are dead reliable, keep on top of fluids and it'll last you nearly as long as any lexus or panther body alternatives.

My Firebird was 1,800. V6 feels good, powerful until 3rd gear then just normal I'd say. Very easy to work on.

Nevermind, it's an autotragic, nothing of value lost
