>never drove manual
>buy manual sports car
>feel slow as fuck on launch
Does it get better or was I memed into buying a slow piece of shit? I learned how to drive manual really fast, it's easy. It's just when I'm taking off from a dead stop in first gear it takes too long. How do I get a good launch? Before I got the car I was looking forward to faggots pulling up and trying to race me at a red light but now I'm scared because I'll either take off too slow or stall the thing. Other than that manual is fun.
You'll have to learn to be less afraid of dropping the clutch. Learn how to preload the drivetrain if you want to minimize wear and tear from aggressive launches.

>I learned how to drive manual really fast, it's easy
Judging from the rest of your post I have found this statement to be false and have come to the conclusion that you inhale penises at an alarming rate.

>Go to empty parking lot
>Practice
You'll be fine if you follow this easy two step process.

Getting a manual going isn't hard, but getting it going fast that's another thing.

Typically when you're taking off smoothly in normal situations you'll slip the clutch with minimal revs, so as not to expose it to any unnecessary slipping. (Give the clutch no more revs than it needs and add revs as you bring the clutch out as needed.)
When you want to take off fast, try holding your revs at about 2.5K, and bringing the clutch out, and adding a bit more as you would normally as the clutch comes out. If you do this, you literally can't fuck it up.
Once you get better you will learn to harmonise bringing the clutch out with your throttle, but in the meantime, just prep your launch with about a thousand more RPM than normal. This will make things easy.
Alternatively, load up your engine with around 3.5K RPMS and just drop the clutch.
Honestly at the end of the day the most important thing to remember is that you WILL get better with practice. There is no substitute for experience.
Good luck anon

First gear is really only useful for getting started. You should shift out of first gear as soon as you can.
So you guys are saying I should raise the rpms before I let off the clutch? I've just been sort of slowly giving it gas and easing off the clutch to get rolling and it's slow, but once I'm in second gear and start working my way up all hell breaks loose.

found the eurotard driving a diesel hatch
my car redlines first gear at over 50mph

What do you mean by preload the drive train? Should I be reving it up before I work the clutch?

You obviously don't drive.
