Also diy tips and mods would be appreciated.

Clean interior is what sold me desu. I know it's cringe to buy a car for nice seats but I did.

Didn't have that kindb of money. Keep in mind the car was already mechanically sound and drivable for just the $850.00
Radiator only costs 110.00, and the hoses for the trash leak were up front and only about $7. My money sink was the mechanic doing tune up and brakes or some shit, that's why I want to elimitate him from the equation.
So did I do good for only $850 is what I am asking. Fuck that mechanic.
It's why I want to into diy, I could've saved soooo much

Are you a grill?
You talk like a grill.

For that money you could have bought a honda or toyota that would have lasted longer with less problems. There is a reason these cars are cheap to buy, because they always have issues. My buddy had an eclispe, he put three motors into it in one year before he ditched it and got a toyota. If you want to learn basic car work then I guess you bought an alright car, as you will be constantly fixing it. But you definitely could have done better.

Also, regardless of when you put money into it, its all the same. If the car was mechanically sound and derivable when you bought it, then why did you have $1100 work performed that wasn't needed? You have almost $2k invested into that car already, and you will probably never sell it for more than $1200. Because that is all these cars are worth. And when this car finally gives up you will dump it in a scrap yard for $500. You could have taken that $2K and bought a nicer car, that would have less issues.
TL:DR - I hope being F&F is worth the money, cause you should have just bought a civic.
6g72 motors suck all the dick man. Fucked up compression ratio, bullshit parts from the avenger rt from 1990s, and janky wiring harness. On the plus side the leather was nice. These actually sound great with the cat/muffler gone. Weld in a glasspack, sounds like a mini 350Z.

So OP bought a poorly maintained automatic version of an unreliable base sports car. Coulda bought a Camry or something that wouldn't turn into a money pit. Heck, maybe a V6 Mustang if she wanted to look sporty.

the paint looks sad
i saw a mitsubishi eclipse a while ago and it was really nice and clean with an orange exterior, a normie would have thought it was a newer car
that candy red or whatever is not as cool though.
