Do you guys think all of the electronics and touchscreen devices used in modern vehicles are a form of planned obsolescence used by the manufacturers to get people to buy newer vehicles more often?

I mean, just like with any normal tablet/iPad/computer for that matter, these things have to start slowing down as more updates are rolled out and as time goes by. And I'm already seeing the tablets in Tesla cars being extremely slow in various videos.

What's the point when most people who buy new cars are boomers who can barely use a smart phone?

yes exactly this. Do you think they will be even working in 5 years? 10 years?\
New cars in general aren't built to last. do you think the nigs down the road will be driving a $2500 off craigslist 2017 Merc in 20 years? I don't

Only cucks buy Tesla. One of the cheapest looking interiors that doesn't justify its price tag.

Also, depends on the computer. Microsoft supports their devices the longest.

Android and Apple couldn't give a fuck about old devices.

However, don't think Microsoft has any plans to interact with cars yet.

Not only that but Car companies are increasingly looking at Linux and open source for automobile software so I don't think you will have to worry about car software updates once they finally got that shit sorted out.

If you're worrying about long time reliability, just buy a Toyota then.

apple macs are well supported. The newest version runs on a 2009 core 2 duo Macbook

IMO it's more profitable to put Chinky ass infotainment to drive up prices than to compete on performance.
