last gen camaro/mustang had like 8lb/hp
0-60 4.5ish secs

FiST, 86, last gen V6 camaro/mustang had about 13lb/hp
0-60 6.5ish secs

your average midsize sedan had 15-20ln/hp
0-60 8.5ish secs

>Over 300 hp
>Under 3000 pounds
This is a good rule of thumb for a car to be sporty. As you get away from that combo the ratio doesn't stay the same, weight matters more than hp. 350 hp is pretty weak for 3900 pounds but 250 is plenty for 2100
>>
for that much weight you need 450 hp to be decent

to be fast youd need 650hp

Why are v8 engines around 8lbs/hp
While v6 are around 12lbs/hp?

How do you calculate the ideal lbs/hp for your car?
>>
>>17422880
>ideal hp

wut?

weight of car divided by HP lbs/hp. The lower the number the better. There is no "ideal"
>>
>>17422045

Yeah that's bretty good. A lot of mall crawlers and other normie crossovers are that weight and less than 200hp.

m3 e36 competes and wins
>>
10:1 and under 3500 is pretty much where fast begins. Over 3500 is an irredeemable pig and you shouldn't even bother.
>>
>>17422045
>3900lb
No idea what that is. Use a real system of weights and measures and we'll talk.
>>
>>17422045
350hp will be fun in a 3900lb car, but not earth-shattering. It'll definitely get you in trouble if you want. Hopefully this car is turbo so you can tune another 50-100 hp into it easily. Don't know if it'd be worth buying otherwise.
>>
>>17422504
he said power to weight ratio not weight balance ratio
also all bmw's have had 50/50 balance since the 60's or so
