i want to own a total shitbox. i have a nice car, but i'm always scared of dents, scratches etc. so i want something i can fling into park and forget it and wish for it to be stolen. i heard /o/ likes shitboxes, so whats reliable and comfy?

literally anything that's cheap.
If you want to choose, you might want peugeot 106 - even 1.4 8v is lively and ready for some fun, plus those cars are dirt cheap and its spare parts are cheap too. I own xsara shitbox and waste it on forest roads, if it'd be as lightweight as 106, i'd be a happy man.
Just keep in mind that you won't go especially fast in it, every serious crash will fold entire driver space. Driving fun is not about driving fast though.
just go on kijiji and buy the most obscure car for under 500 and have fun.

>the most obscure
popularity = cheap spare parts, it's better to fuck up your suspension in old PSA car and pay $50 for repairs than fuck it up in some rare shitbox and import replacements from the other side of the world

geo metro
rip out interior
kick exterior for dents

its a cheap car, who cares if it only lasts 6 months, blow it up, part it out, buy another one. or buy a 2002 sunfire because parts are everywhere. and ill have fun with my RWD manual turbo master racecar
I used to have a nice car, bought a shitbox for just the winter and now the shitbox is my nice car and my nice car is becoming my winter shitbox
Reliable shitboxes?
Any 80's VW should be good if you don't mind the rust everywhere.

if anything old and german is worth mentioning, it's surely audi 80. those pieces of shit just don't rust at all, unless crashed or scratched super deep
Geo Metro and Jeep XJ for murricans. Both will go well over 300,000 miles, parts for both are stupid cheap, and there should still be at least ten in your local junkyard. You can get an entire intact interior for an XJ from a junkyard for under $100.

Do the ones from 1986 rust?
>>17386335
dunno, i'm not really an expert on this subject, but google whether your model of choice was "zinc galvanized". that's the name of the spell audi workers casted on most models from 80 line to make them rustproof.
Some other companies also zinc coated their cars - older porsches, some fords

Not too sure on Audis, they, for some reason are prone to many electrical failures, specially older models. But most of them you can find barely have any rust, that I have to agree with.
I would say to OP go for a VW Fox or Fox Wagon, but avoid diesel engines as these can barely reach 60MPH before falling apart.
