Do you really need to change the timing belt every 4 years....even if you only drove like 10-15k miles during that 4 year period because you don't have friends or anywhere to go besides work.
service book says to do the major service at 60k miles or after 48 months.

yes change it you twit, rubber goes hard and cracks with age regardless of use if any thing a sitting belt is worse off than a constantly worked belt.
Pretty sure some cars go up to 10 years before needing a belt change by the manual.
