Put 12k into a 3k CR-X instead.
The CR-Z is $16K new...

Well that would surprise no one.

Why? Just get a civic for 3k or fix your current car.
import a older manual crz from japan. swap in a new L15b7. will cost less than 15k and have a real engine in it

a dealer near me has a 2015 ex with 7k miles. Manual too
Just buy a FiST. More power. More fun, same price used. Maybe even new. I got mine for 16.5k USD brand new. MSRP is 21k. Ford was offering a 5k rebate on leftovers when i scooped it.
You should buy a v6 mustang instead, you will always regret not getting a car with more torque. Also going for the v8 isn't worth the extra money for such a small power gain, and it throws off the car's near perfect weight distribution. Mustangs are known to have very rigid frame construction so it will always feel nice and tight. One more thing is the interior, it's well established that ford has made the best car interiors since the mid 90's.
