I'm on the verge of buying a Calibra but have seen some warnings that they're not worth the time. Are they as unreliable as they're made out to be or do they just have a bad rap?

Fat dick in my mouth & butt

I'm an ausfag as well actually, they're not easy to find here and information is just as hard to find and it's just dumb luck that I managed to find one for sale.
Poms and euros said it depends on the engine what one u looking at got a link?
>>17362862
No link cause the guy pulled down the ad but it's the 16v 2.0l redtop engine (though it's not red in Australia for some reason) and it's a '94 model. Is that a good or bad engine?
>>17362904
Google said the redtop was good but to stay away from the awd model.
If it's manual and in good condition go for it

I've had talks with people in Australia who own these. You just need to be mindful of the symmetrical AWD they have if you get that to not fuck up the maintenance costs. Usual rules apply there about rotating tyres super frequently, ensure that all your tyres are of the same make/model/age so you don't blow the transfer system. Getting parts for any Opel is a massive PITA and can get real expensive real fast depending on what could/will fail.
Keep an eye on the temps on hot days too, as with any Opel model in Australia, as their thermostats are prone to believing you are still in the much colder Deutschland.
Source: owned an SB Barina for 3 years and several friends with Astras of the similar model years.

Yeah ok might avoid the car, just afraid that it's gonna be a typical 90s euro car money pit.
If you want a cheap alternative get a vn-vz with the 3800 or ls1 in manual
Or a 2002-2006 falcon are even cheaper and the auto is ok

yeah maybe, more keen on older car and 90s commodores are going up in price.
