So I took my '08 forester to the dealership to have the ECU reprogrammed after realizing there was an open recall. I assumed this would improve my slow idle(around 600rpm but intermittently jumping to 1000, 1500 if its raining). When I get my car back I find that its idling exactly the same, but the point where the clutch grabs and how much gas it needs to get rolling are totally different. Like so much so that I stalled like a fag pulling out of the parking spot. Can someone explain this to me? I thought the clutch was one of the few things NOT influenced by a computer?

Did you ask about the point of the recall? Maybe it was about reducing power to prevent a know failure.
