I'm no expert on vehicles but why does it seem automobiles from the 80's and 90's are so universally despised?
When ever you look in a junk yard or watch a demolition derby it's always vehicles from those eras.....
They're simply the ones that are 25-35 years old. Younger than that and they haven't hit bottom value yet, older than that and they're either rusted through and nonoperational or in good enough condition to have increased in value again. Has nothing to do with the 80s or 90s.
you just gotta find the good ones
Because demo derbies have always used 20-30 year old cars?
you have to be over 18 to post on this site young man

>80's and 90's are so universally despised
That's the two best decades for cars tbqh.
Those two decades are when they started making:
>cars lighter because good MPG started mattering more than ever before
>hot hatches
>chassis that don't rust crazy fast
>A E S T H E T I C cars, right before they started rounding angles everywhere
But most importantly, this is the last decades before electronics starts infesting cars.

80s and 90s cars are cheap as stated above, and they don't have crumple zones like modern cars do so they last longer in derbies.

This. Stick a civic in there with the 5000lb beasts and see what happens.

The 80s were shit for cars. Don't kid yourself. I love 80s cars, but most of them are terrible when it comes to performance and looks.

They're in derbies because they are cheap lmao.
