Yay or nay?
Overall budget is $10,000.
Also interested in a first-gen Lexus LS400.
What are other large comfy cars?
You can see the horrible Maco paint on the driver door. That thing was a patrol car. I believe everyone should try out a Panther but they have zero resale value. Get it as cheap as possible. I'd say $2500 at most.

10k? You're in Marauder territory at that point. Do dat
Grand Marquis/Town Car
P71s are the welfare queens of the Panther body.

CV sport is legit but probably bloated in price by panther fanbois

LX Sport just means it's got dual exhaust, a rear sway bar, and 3.27 gears, right? Those were on the Grand Marquis as well (LSE trim) and on both cars of earlier and later years as the Handling/Performance Package. Not to mention it's damn easy to add that shit yourself (and Trac-Lok if you want, given that that was a P71/Marauder thing only), they're far from difficult cars to work on.

Get an LS400 if you can drop 10k.
You should be able to get a 1998-2000 year model which got the VVTi 1UZ. It makes 290 horsepower, better fuel economy, larger than the UCF 10s on the inside, looks cleaner, Xenon HIDs almost across the board, and because it was a T-LEV there's no EGR system. Earlier LS400s had to use secondary air injection + EGR for CARB states which can lead to some serious pain in the ass, hard to fix issues with poor throttle response, low/high idle, etc.
